Singularity, a terrific quartet of saxophonists from my alma mater, Florida State University, is performing at Carnegie Hall on May 6. Their concert will feature a performance of my Elegy, in addition to works by Charles Wuorinen, Martin Bresnick, and David Ludwig who will all attend the performance. We have been asked to speak about the ways in which our inspiration for our works manifests itself in our music, and I am proud to be a part of this group of amazing composers invited to attend Singularity’s special performance.
For those of you unable to attend their concert in NYC, they will be previewing their program in the Tallahassee, FL region at the following venues:
- Wednesday, April 22 @ 7:30PM: Quincy Theatre, Quincy, FL
- Sunday, April 26 @ 8:00PM: Dohnányi Recital Hall, Tallahassee, FL
- Tuesday, April 28 @ 8:00PM: Classical Revolution @ Waterworks, Tallahassee, FL
- Thursday, April 30 @ 8:00PM: Longmire Recital Hall, Tallahassee, FL
I am looking forward to this, and I hope you can join in the fun!
